Time at MIM

My experience in the "Museo Interactivo Mirador" (MIM) was very enriching, because I realized that one can learn many things on an entertaining and interactive way, sharing with friends and / or family.

My favorite exhibition was the " Gyratory Chair ", because fascinates me the sensation of speed, freedom and dizziness, when it stops, that produces.

It was a beautiful experience that I wil cherish. I am be very grateful of have been a part of that.

ALMA proyect: Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array

The ALMA science complex, when fully complete in March, will feature 66 high-precision antennae that will explore the universe from the plateau of Chajnantor, located 5,000 meters above sea level in Northern Chile, 34 km outside of San Pedro de Atacama.

Once operating at its full capacity in late 2013, ALMA will have 100 times more sensitivity and spectral resolution than its predecessors in the millimeter/submillimeter field. In fact, even while only operating at 25 percent of its full capacity, ALMA has already been used to make significant discoveries, including the finding of sugar molecules in a distant star similar to our sun.

This unprecedented project, which involves the collaboration of 20 countries in Europe, North America and Asia, signifies a new era for astronomy research. Scientists will be able to see darker, colder, and denser regions of the cosmos thanks to ALMA’s powerful antenna array. ALMA’s 66 antennae act as a single telescope with a 16 km diameter.

This will be a huge opportunity for this country to be known and recognized for something good and important in the world.

The good, the bad and the learned of 2012

A) Good things about last year:
Last year I met many people who helped me a lot to grow as a person and taught me how to live in a better way. I got an english scholarchip at Alberto Hurtado's University. Last year for my birthday I met a guy who was really nice with me, his name is Diego. With time he started to be one of the most important persons in my life and now we have been in a relationship for a month. Past year I realized that I have great friends that I can trust and count on them because they will always be there for me.
B) Bad things about last year:
Last year I almost lose one of the most important things that I have, I almost moved from my high school, because I made many mistakes. My great-grandmother past away on july, two wicks after her birthday. On dicember 3rd, my grandfather marked a year since he died. I lose a great friend because she betrayed me, she said things she should not say to people that sould not know. My family almost goes apart and I had a lot of problems, but all of them are solvable. And I realized that not everyone who says that is your friend it is really.
C)What I learned about 2012:
I learned that not everyone is who they say they are, I realized that not everyone it is there when you need them, but who really is there worth fighting. I learned that family is one of the most important things that you can be part of and you must fight to keep it together. God always have to be the most important in your life, without him you are nothing. You have to be yourself, do not pretend to be someone else, because you are not going anywhere that way. Now my philosophy of life is: Love, laugh, enjoy, be happy.
D)What I realized I still need to learn:
I still need to learn about life, I'm just starting, I still need to learn about how to do things right, and to don't mess it up. I still need to learn a lot of the thing that teachers teaches at school and university, I still need to learn how to be the person I want to be and keep close the people I really love.

Something 'bout chilean history :33

The territory of Chile has been populated since at least 12,000 B.P. By the 16th century, Spanish conquistadors began to subdue and colonize the region of present-day Chile, and the territory became a colony from 1540 to 1818, when it gained independence from Spain. The country's economic development was successively marked by the export of first agricultural produce, then saltpetter and later copper. The wealth of raw materials led to an economic upturn, but also led to dependency, and even wars with neighboring states. The country was governed during most of its first 150 years of independent life by different forms of restricted government, where the electorate was carefully vetted and controlled by an elite.
Failure to address the economic and social disparities and increasing political awareness of the less-affluent population, as well as indirect intervention and economic funding to the main political groups by both the KGB and the CIA, as part of the Cold War, led to a political polarization under Socialist President Salvador Allende which in turn resulted in the 11 september 1973 coup and the military dictatorship of General Augusto Pinochet, whose 17-years regimen was responsible for numerous human rights violations and deep market-oriented economic reforms. In 1990, Chile made a peaceful transition to democracy.

If I Ain't Got You - Alicia Keys

One of my favorite songs: "If I Ain't Got You"

"If I Ain't Got You" is a song recorded, written, and produced by American recording artist Alicia Keys for her second studio album, The Diary of Alicia Keys. Released in February 2004 as the album's second single, the song peaked at number four on the Billboard Hot 100 and became Keys' second consecutive R&B chart-topper, remaining atop the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs for six weeks. The song received two nominations at the 2005 Grammy Awards, for Song of the Year and Best Female R&B Vocal Performance, winning in the latter.
